Dissertation Topic
In my dissertation I assessed the frequency and consequences of transient myocardial ischemia using the 12-lead electrocardiogram (ECG) in patients admitted to a telemetry unit for Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS).

Research Interests
My research interests are in improving detection of acute myocardial ischemia among hospitalized patients with ACS by using the 12-lead ECG. Additionally, I have been involved in randomized clinical trials assessing whether nursing educational interventions can improve patient’s ability to recognize symptoms of ACS or worsening heart failure.
Mission
To improve care provided to patients with cardiovascular disease through clinical research, and generate interest in nursing research among nursing students at both the undergraduate and graduate level of nursing education.
Personal
All of my free time is spent with my husband and two sons.
Courses
Teaches clinical at the undergraduate level in the acute care setting; and research/theory at the graduate level.
